The European Conference of Radiology (ECR) had established in 1967, with the same reputation with the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA). It is recognized as one of the two prestigious international conferences in the global radiology discipline. With more than 75,000 members in 157 countries, the ECR is the world's largest radiological society, hosting the largest and most innovative scientific conference in Europe. It was held in different locations every four years. Since 1985, the meeting venue has been held in Vienna, Austria. In 1991, it was changed to biennial, and after 1999 it was changed to annually. In 2005, the European Radiology Association and the European Radiology Congress merged to form the European Radiological Society (ESR) in Vienna. Nowadays, ECR had become as the largest radiological society in Europe.
